| What
is an Enhanced Canvas Transfer? A canvas transfer is made by transferring the ink and a thin layer of paper from an offset lithograph onto special canvas. The canvas is then stretched onto a 3/4 inch wood framework [stretcher bars] just like original oils and acrylics. The process is done by hand, one canvas at a time. It is a multi-step, time consuming process, and water baths, top quality coatings and films, and specialized coated canvas is involved. The end result is a product that is quite durable, can be cleaned, and will not delaminate. Then the artist, carefully following the brushstrokes in the image, textures the canvas with an acrylic gel. When the gel has dried, she then enhances and embellishes the image with genuine oil paint, creating a "semi original" artwork with the look and feel of an original oil painting. Janet then signs the painting with the copyright date. When the oil paint is dry, the artwork is then sprayed with a UV protective coating in either gloss or matte finish. As with all fine art including oil, acrylic, watercolor or prints,do not expose to direct sunlight or prolonged exposure to fluorescent lighting. Your enhanced canvas transfer has been treated with a protective varnish finish and requires no care other than a once a year dusting with a soft lintfree cloth. Please allow two to four weeks for delivery.
